We are looking for a detailed-oriented, technically fluent, and execution-focused Product Owner to drive the development of our Rule Management capability. As part of the Risk Platform, this system is the "decisioning brain" that allows our clients to author, test, and deploy complex fraud prevention strategies in real-time.
In this role, you will act as the Voice of the Customer inside the engineering squad. While the Product Manager defines the long-term vision, you define the immediate "What". You will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and code, working side-by-side with developers to ensure we are building the right features, correctly, every single day.
You will own the team backlog for the Rule Management engine—translating complex requirements into actionable user features that empower fraud analysts to stop threats without needing to write code.
What You’ll Build
Rule Authoring & Lifecycle Management
- You will guide the squad in building the tools clients use to create and manage fraud logic.
- Self-Service Rule Editor: A flexible, low-code UI that allows analysts to build complex logic
- Rule Lifecycle: Features that manage the state of a rule from Draft -> Testing -> Active -> Retired.
- Version Control & Audit: Ensuring every change to a rule is tracked, versioned, and auditable for compliance.
Simulation & Testing Capabilities
- You will define the features that ensure safety and accuracy in decisioning.
- Impact Analysis: Tools that allow users to "backtest" a new rule against historical data to see what would have happened (False Positive/Negative analysis).
- Real-Time Validation: Automated checks to ensure new rules don’t break existing logic or introduce latency.
Key Responsibilities
Backlog Management & Planning
- Own the Squad Backlog: Maintain a healthy, prioritized list of Features and User Stories ready for development.
- Translate Initiatives, Epics to deliverable Features: Take high-level Epics and break them down into granular, actionable features with clear Acceptance Criteria.
- Execution Planning: Lead the planning for upcoming sprints, ensuring the team has enough "ready" work and understands the priorities.
Agile Execution & Team Enablement
- Voice of the Customer: Be available to the developers daily to answer questions, clarify requirements, and make rapid trade-off decisions.
- Scrum Ceremonies: Actively participate in Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives to unblock the team and maintain velocity.
- Acceptance & Validation: Review completed work against acceptance criteria to ensure it meets quality standards before it reaches the client.
Technical & Functional Alignment
- Collaborate with Engineering: Work with the Tech Lead to understand technical constraints and ensure stories account for non-functional requirements.
- Cross-Team Dependencies: Coordinate with other Product Owners & stakeholders to manage dependencies and ensure data fields required for rules are available.
