The Senior Sourcing Manager is a key role to support and enable Global and Regional Category leaders and their strategies As a Sourcing Lead you are accountable for developing Sourcing and negotiation strategies to deliver sustainable results across certain Marketing Communications categories such as Media, Production, Marketing Technologies, Experiential, Market Research, Public Relations among others by identifying new opportunities for value and process improvement You will need a strong sense of urgency and the ability to succinctly frame issues and alternatives to drive decisions forward This role will report to the site Director while also receiving strategic category guidance from the global team.
Responsibilities
- Support the global category team with the development of requirements, include a formal evaluation process to prioritize quality, cost, service, technology, and environmental requirements future technology roadmaps, breakthrough goals Strategy includes benchmarking to determine world class levels and internal external gap analysis
- Utilizes strategic sourcing process in all sourcing initiatives.
- Manage complex, cross functional teams in sourcing initiatives, understands and applies milestone checks and steering team concepts Strives to create additional value to exceed customer expectations, provides attention to detail. Ensures agreed deliverables are met, dealing openly with constraints and issues.
- Translates business goals and proposals into sourcing policies, plans and supplier relationships. Brings business and sourcing perspectives together, helping the business to see the potential and impact of sourcing recommendations.
- Drives cross functional negotiation teams, influences stakeholders in the decision making process, implements world class negotiation techniques and contractual clauses. Educates business suppliers on TCO concepts and deliverables
- Works with legal counsel and other stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions of the contracts
- Participates and may lead in supplier selection and moderately complex contract negotiations, involving Legal and other departments as necessary, to achieve favorable terms on quality, delivery, and price, and ensures end user needs are met and deliver cost savings
- Maintain external focus by leveraging industry peers, organizations, associations and by continuing to build strong relationships outside of Visa
- Communicates effectively and frequently, listens carefully, and actively seeks and values the perspectives of others
- Drives completion of simultaneous projects by proactively considering new alternatives and driving critical thinking to optimize results
- Shows an understanding of suppliers business models, key drivers, measures and priorities.
- Proactively explores developments in global supplier markets and supply technologies, identifying possible breakthrough Sourcing solutions for the business. Able to facilitate and lead cross functional supplier business reviews at Strategic Operational level
- Contributes significantly to the achievement of defined category performance targets and assists in driving the performance of associated suppliers, measure suppliers performance to ensure performance meets expectations
