The Opportunity:
We are looking for talented, curious, and energetic Staff Software Support Engineers who possess strong leadership skills and strong interest in solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Staff Software Support Engineer, you will provide technical expertise support for the Risk application systems. The role expects the candidate to be a curious and self-motivated technical subject matter expert, provides technical troubleshooting skills for all support related challenges, and be accountable for the support delivery and operational excellence of multiple highly available application services.
The Work itself:
- Work in Risk application support team to provide world-class application support.
- Provide rotation basis 24x7 production support to all Risk suite of applications in the production environment.
- Diagnose and resolve problems in production to meet all service level agreements (SLAs), including possible joint analysis with cross region team
- Develop automation solutions for support automation, scripting needs
- Develop software install plans, define release schedule and content. Implement changes in the production environment. Take full responsibility of the change end-to-end, including plan, communication, engage, execution and follow-up with all required groups e.g. infrastructure, middleware, database etc.
- Develop, update, maintain Production monitoring solutions
- Work with the Cybersecurity team to ensure all security vulnerabilities are remediated within the required timeline.
- Partner with Developers, Test Engineering, Scrum Master / PM, as required.
- Provide strategic technical and functional knowledge to critical Tier 1 Risk application:
- Develop into subject matter expert for (at least one) of the critical Risk applications: Risk Message Processor (RMP), Issuer Fraud Detection (IFD)
- Participate in business project discussion & deployment planning
- Coaching and guiding team members in developing technical skills
- Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Operational Support excellence. Design and deploy automated support solution based on AI, support automation and become a strong advocate for pro-active monitoring.
**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
