The Azure Core Organization is responsible for building the foundation of Microsoft’s cloud computing platform for utility computing. This foundational layer operates at one of the lowest levels of the software and hardware stack and includes a virtualized computational substrate, a fully automated service management system, and a set of highly scalable storage services designed for performance and reliability.
Azure continues to grow rapidly, with teams working together to manage the full capacity lifecycle—from initial demand signals to hardware retirement. The vision is to develop a Capacity Infrastructure Services (CIS) platform that automates provisioning and de-provisioning of hardware and devices, streamlines datacenter operations and business processes, and delivers end-to-end data analytics. This approach enables Microsoft services to manage capacity in a consistent, efficient, and secure manner.
The team is seeking a Principle Software Engineer interested in building a comprehensive resource provisioning ecosystem that secures, validates, and provisions the complex, multi-layered Azure platform. This work contributes to adding capacity flexibility to one of the fastest-growing cloud platforms in the industry.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
