Tink, delivering Open Banking Solutions as a part of Visa, is building an open banking platform that enables banks, fintech and startups to develop data-driven financial services. Through one API, Tink allows customers to access aggregated financial data, initiate payments, enrich transactions and build personal finance management tools. Tink connects to more than 3,400 banks that reach over 250 million bank customers across Europe & US. Our solutions are ready-to-go products, each developed to solve specific problems and bring value to both businesses and their customers.
As part of the initiative, we are building Visa’s Open Banking engineering team in Bangalore—designed from the ground up to be AI-first. Every engineer in this team will work in close collaboration with Generative AI agents as development companions, leveraging Visa’s extensive portfolio of AI models, tools, and experimentation platforms. This AI-augmented approach will supercharge every stage of the engineering lifecycle—from solution design and code generation to testing, deployment, monitoring, and continual service improvement—enabling us to deliver innovative, high-quality connectivity solutions at unprecedented speed and scale.
As a Lead Software Engineer in this team, you will:
- Leverage innovative technologies and develop solutions to evolve the next generation of Open Banking Product and Services.
- Lead efforts to architect, design and implement various aspects of our Open Banking processing systems. Develop and design advanced end-to-end architect solutions that are robust, resilient and scalable, considering integrations with other solutions across the internal technical ecosystem
- Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings
- Help our clients to achieve their real goals by understanding the requirements and how it would help them in their business.
- Understand the Security requirements and standards, and contemporary trends in Security risks as well as technologies
- Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads
- Make a difference on a global or local scale through mentorship and continued learning opportunities
- Build high-performance, scalable APIs integrating with both documented and undocumented banking interfaces.
- Co-develop integrations / features side-by-side with GenAI agents to dramatically increase speed-to-market and code quality.
- Operate in a true DevOps model—owning build, deploy, and maintain responsibilities in the cloud.
- Continuously experiment with Visa’s rich portfolio of Generative AI models (transformers, LLMs, GANs, VAEs, multimodal models) and cutting-edge AI tools for production and innovation.
- Deliver new features on a rapid cadence (every few days) with end-to-end accountability.
What You Will Do:
Generative AI Leadership & Architecture:
- Design and optimize AI‑augmented SSDLC workflows—embedding GenAI agents into coding, testing, and deployment pipelines for maximum productivity and reliability.
- Demonstrate ownership of AI‑powered product features from concept to production, including model selection, fine‑tuning, and integration into scalable systems.
- Lead proof of concept initiatives to validate new AI capabilities before scaling.
- Partner with GenAI agents for design, code generation, refactoring, and automated testing.
- Experiment in Visa’s AI sandbox, where multiple GenAI models and frameworks are available for employee-driven innovation.
- Apply Generative AI models to complex API integration challenges, anomaly detection, and intelligent automation.
Open Banking Integrations:
- Work directly with product owners to gather and refine requirements across products, adding and taking into account existing tools and solutions across the organization.
- Provide domain expertise on the development of technical documentation of solutions and contributes to standard processes in technical documentation as needed
- Build components integrating with banks’ APIs to aggregate and enrich consumer financial data.
- Handle high-load systems with stringent uptime requirements.
- Work with Visa’s Tink technologies stack: Java, Node.js, JavaScript, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, SQL, Datadog and much more.
Cloud-Native DevOps:
- Own end-to-end delivery: design, build, deploy, monitor, and maintain services in AWS/Kubernetes/Docker environments.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated observability using Datadog and related tooling.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability and operational excellence.
Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Collaborate with Senior Technical and Product Leaders across geographies and teams to evolve the next generation of Open Banking Product and Services.
- Collaborate with senior technical leaders and Product Managers to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Contribute to AI-first engineering culture—sharing learnings from model experimentation and leveraging AI engineering assistants.
- Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.
